Important Points of 4th to 5th FEB Affairs:- 2016



1) General John Nicholson has been nominated as the new commander of the NATO forces in Afghanistan.

2) Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) will allow online exit of subscribers from National Pension System from 1st of April this year.

3) IDBI Federal Life Insurance has partnered with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for the launch of a bowling foundation. 

Note:- IDBI Federal Life Insurance is a private insurer.

4) Indian Government has planned to set up National Organic Farming Research Institute in Sikkim

5) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 12th South Asian Games (SAG) in Guwahati.

Note:- The opening ceremony was held at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium, Sarusajai Sports Complex.

6) Maurice White has died in the Los Angeles. White was 74 years old

Note:- He was the founder of soul group Earth, Wind & Fire.

7) Mrs. Aruna Sethi has become the first lady head of Indian Cost Accounts Service (ICoAS) on 1st February 2016.

8) D J Pandian appointed as the AIIB Vice-President

Note:- 
(i) AIIB ( Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank) , 
(ii) He was the former chief secretary of Gujarat ,  
(iii) AIIB is the Beijing-based 100 billion dollars, the multi-lateral lender.

9) Haryana and the Province of Ontario in Canada have signed a MoU aimed at enhancing commercial and cultural ties.

10) CSIR launches India's first ayurvedic anti-diabetic drug

Note:- 

(i) The drug has launched at the Global Ayurveda Meet in Kozhikode
(ii) The ayurvedic drug BGR-34 works by controlling blood sugar and limiting the harmful effects of other drugs.

11) India signs agreement to become an Associate Member of European Molecular Biology Organisation

Note:- India has become the second country outside the European region after Singapore. The agreement was signed in New Delhi on 4th February 2016.
